I am currently working with a client in Atlanta who purchased a 1998 home that was in a great neighborhood, but needed some serious updating. One of the first projects we did was to redesign their 2 fireplaces. I am getting a lot of requests for redesigning fireplaces when I am redesigning living rooms and family rooms.
Do you need to rethink your fireplace?

I just completed this farmhouse style home for a young family in East Cobb.
I would love to share the before and after photos with you. Have you ever been on a river cruise?
I think they are the best way to see a country. Being on the river gives you a different perspective than travelling by car or bus. You float from city to city, have local tour guides who know the towns personally, and you make new friends on the cruise. It’s a very relaxed way to travel and visit a country. We just took a river cruise on the Seine river from Paris to Normandy and it was fabulous! Follow my first day on the Seine River here on my other blog. Bonjour mon Amis!
Have you ever been to Paris and explored all the history and art (not to mention it’s considered the fashion capitol of the world)? Paris and the river cruise up the Seine River to Normandy was a 30 year anniversary gift from my husband. Paris has been on my bucket list and as an interior designer, I was excited to explore the architecture, art, and museums of Paris! I invite you to read about my trip to Paris and to the towns in Normandy on my other website: www.helloim50ish.com. My other website is dedicated to fashion, lifestyle, and travel for women over 50 and I think you will enjoy it! Au revoir! Recently I have been receiving many phone calls from prospective clients looking to work with my company, but they don't know how much to invest in a room because they don't know how much it should cost.
I love working with different design styles and searching for the perfect pieces that go with a particular design aesthetic. Today I want to share with you my favorite finds for a current design project in Hilton Head.
When you look at this bathroom, what do you see?
Do you see a small modern bathroom, or perhaps the fiery colored glass top? For those who can look beyond the design style, do you spy the grab bars in the shower? Why are they there? Who needs them? I recently spoke to 25 women at the Chattahoochee Plantation Women's Association and was answering design questions from the audience when someone asked what to do for her dining room that needed some texture and color if I didnt recomend window treatments for her.
She has plantation shutters, a wood table, chairs, and no room for art. Lots of wood can be boring in a room, so I always recommend using some form of texture. Which can be found in fabrics, rugs, accessories, lighting, and wallpaper. I told her to use grasscloth wallpaper and watched everyone nod in agreement. I have a new client who was looking for an interior designer who does modern homes. He googled "Poggenpohl" and an article I wrote 2 years ago on my "Modern Buckhead Loft" came up on his internet search and now he is my newest client.
I had written the article about why great quality and great design is timeless and why as an interior designer, I want my clients to invest in the future. The following is the updated blog post I wrote about why I had selected Poggenpohl for the design project when I have many options for modern kitchen cabinetry. My new client grew up with a Poggenpohl kitchen and as fate would have it, he found me. DISCLAIMER: I do not work for Poggenpohl, nor did I receive any money or attend a blog tour sponsored by Poggenpohl. I just believe in sharing great quality and good design. |
