The leaves are changing color and the days are getting cooler, what a perfect time to use fall decor in your home. There are so many ways to add fall decor to your home and it's not too late!
1.Create a fall themed table setting.
The easiest way to add fall colors to your home is to dress up your table with fall leaves, pumpkins, and candles. Here I used wax leaves sprinkled over the table as if they had fallen from a tree, a faux silk floral centerpiece and big candleholders to my table on my porch. I used my darkest plates and Murano wine glasses to add more fall colors.
2. Dress up your home with Halloween decor.
Here is the same table but with a Halloween themed table setting. I was inspired by a visit to Home Depot 2 weeks ago when the store was filled with Christmas trees (early October!) and thought it would be fun to decorate one of my trees with fall leaves and orange lights.
It even looks better at night!
The entire porch is decorated in fall colors and Halloween decor.
3. Warm up your rooms with a darker paint on your walls.
Selecting warm rich dark colors for your walls creates a cozier feeling when the temperature starts to drop.
4.Find fall colors in Art.
Art is a wonderful way to capture fall in landscapes or the warm rich fall color palettes used in photography and portraits. Art is the one item that can bring a touch of fall into your home without being put away until next season.
We have 3 paintings in our home by this local Atlanta artist, Ford Smith. Ford was a premier commercial and fashion photographer before he turned towards the canvas. His art is very luminous with a hint of dimension.
Joseph creates highly designed photographs by blending exposures. This is my favorite one of my favorite city, New York. His images are as dramatic as they are unique.
5. Accessorize with throws now that the weather is cooler.
Now that the weather is getting cooler add throws or blankets to your seating areas.
