I love going to Americasmart in Atlanta, but I prefer to go on quiet days not during market days, but today I was on a mission to shop for 4 interior design projects and I had to brave the winter market going on from January 10th-17th.. I cannot afford to wander from showroom to showroom, even though wandering is a good thing when you have never been to the Americasmart. Americasmart is divided into 3 humongous buildings in downtown Atlanta. Building 1 is dedicated to Home and Rugs( I spend most my time in Building 1). Building 2 is Home and Gift and Building 3 is Apparel. There are thousands of showrooms carrying everything I need as an interior designer but I am so busy these days that wandering is not a good use of my time. As they say, time is money. I also took advantage of the shuttle service offered by ADAC so that I could park for free as an interior designer going to market. Which is also a fun way for me to listen to other interior designers talk about how they run or don't run their businesses. It's amazing how all interior designers and decorators work these days! Let me tell you I got an ear full! If you have never been to a market or even to Americasmart I highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes. You do a lot of walking!! Throughout the Mart there are room vignettes by showrooms and this was my favorite one by Moss Studio. This would look perfect for my next interior design living room project! Call me today if you love this and I will order it for you! Just lovely! Moss Studio is available through the Codarus Showroom where I was purchasing art from Soicher Marin and stopping to take a "market selfie" with my favorite guy Tyler who works at Codarus. This art from Soicher Marin is from the Conde Nast Collection: Vanity Fair covers Design Project #1: Farmhouse kitchen I have a farmhouse kitchen renovation starting on the first of February so I was busy purchasing lighting and decor as my final pieces for this project. I bought a couple of the words from the Global Swap Shop. Aren't they perfect! Then I purchased this laundry basket light from Zentique to go over the table. Off to Light and Living for these fun pendants for over the kitchen island. I purchased 2 farmhouse wall sconces from Currey and Company as the last pieces for my farmhouse kitchen. Even though I wasn't purchasing from the Phillips Collection today, I always stop by this fabulous showroom filled with unique pieces! How great is this bistro table and chairs? Or for your Georgia Bulldog fans, a bulldog sculpture! Design Project #2: Vinings Home I stopped by Jaipur Living to purchase a rug for a living room I'm doing with furniture from Gabby Home and custom pieces I designed. This is such a happy rug to pull my colors scheme from for this room. The swivel chair from Gabby Home will be done in a faux snake leather from Kravet. I can't wait to show you this project in February! Design Project #3: East Cobb Residence I purchased this rug from Surya for another client's design project. This rug is going in the family room. For this client's daughter, I headed over to Safavieh to purchase this rug for a loft teenage space . Wait to you see the final room completed! Youll have to follow me on Instagram to see how this project turns out. Design Project #4: Palm Springs meets Sandy Springs I am working on a entire home renovation with a wonderful young couple who loves Mid Century Modern and the Palm Spring look. Because there is going to be a lot of cost on the construction side, I am looking in the Mart for some very well priced pieces at Zuo Modern for this couple. Design Project #5: Outdoor Living This is the second phase of a home I have already done in my portfolio, but we are adding a outdoor living room with a freestanding fireplace. I head over to Building#2 to the Outdoor Living floors where I will purchase furniture from Summer Classics, a favorite of mine. Well friends we have visited 13 showrooms in 6 hours and I can't wait to show you the finished rooms! Thank goodness Atlanta had incredibly warm weather and I didn't have to wear a coat! Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on Instagram, Twitter, FaceBook, Houzz,LinkedIn, and Pinterest too!
