A Home Wellness Retreat for the 2019 Atlanta Home for the Holiday Designer Showhouse
Is it Christmas in February? No, but I couldn’t post any photos of my Wellness Retreat for the 2019 Atlanta Holiday Home until Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles published their February issue featuring all of the rooms. I just happened to photograph my room after it was decorated for the holidays. If you pick up the current February issue you will see a spa retreat completely void of Christmas decor.
My friends, with the holiday season in full swing and winter weather knocking at our door, this can be a very stressful time of year with all the ho ho ho’s added on top of your everyday stress. Do you have a perfect relaxation space in your home?
Rethink Your Fireplace
I am currently working with a client in Atlanta who purchased a 1998 home that was in a great neighborhood, but needed some serious updating. One of the first projects we did was to redesign their 2 fireplaces. I am getting a lot of requests for redesigning fireplaces when I am redesigning living rooms and family rooms.
Do you need to rethink your fireplace?
I love working with different design styles and searching for the perfect pieces that go with a particular design aesthetic. Today I want to share with you my favorite finds for a current design project in Hilton Head.
When you look at this bathroom, what do you see?
Do you see a small modern bathroom, or perhaps the fiery colored glass top?
For those who can look beyond the design style, do you spy the grab bars in the shower? Why are they there? Who needs them?
I recently spoke to 25 women at the Chattahoochee Plantation Women's Association and was answering design questions from the audience when someone asked what to do for her dining room that needed some texture and color if I didnt recomend window treatments for her.
She has plantation shutters, a wood table, chairs, and no room for art. Lots of wood can be boring in a room, so I always recommend using some form of texture. Which can be found in fabrics, rugs, accessories, lighting, and wallpaper.
I told her to use grasscloth wallpaper and watched everyone nod in agreement.
I love going to Americasmart in Atlanta, but I prefer to go on quiet days not during market days, but today I was on a mission to shop for 4 interior design projects and I had to brave the winter market going on from January 10th-17th..
Happy New Year!
What a great way to start the new year by incorporating Pantone's color of 2017-Greenery into your home.
Ooh! There is a chill in the air and the leaves are turning crimson and gold.
A perfect time for a fire in the fireplace don't you think?
Do you have a fireplace for chilly nights?
The leaves are changing color and the days are getting cooler, what a perfect time to use fall decor in your home. There are so many ways to add fall decor to your home and it's not too late!
